Glass designs inspired by nature

Painted flowers

Beautiful flowers intricately painted on glass with exquisite detail, their vibrant hues and delicate forms brought to life by hand. Each petal, leaf and stem celebrates natures harmony and symmetry.

These hand painted flower designs are housed within a rustic wooded frame naturally offsetting the refined beauty of the art. The warm, earthy tones of the wood complement and enrich the vibrant tones of the glass painting, creating a captivating contrast between the mediums.

Wild Meadow

Welcome to an enchanting world where wild meadows bloom ceaselessly, embraced by the warmth of a signature hue radiating from your favourite flower.

Each glass fragment is hand picked and artistically constructed to bring to life a tangible expression of joy, meant to uplift the spirit and infuse your space with a cheerful energy.

The artwork is mounted on a white painted board adding an element of rustic charm. The crisp white contrasts beautifully with the lively colours of the wild meadow, ensuring that each detail pops.

Glass cards

Explore the charm of my handmade glass cards. Each card is a unique piece of art, capturing the beauty of nature in captivating colour and form.

At the heart of the card you’ll find an original sketch, over this a piece of individually fused glass is meticulously placed. This delicate glass overlay refracts the light to add brilliance, transforming the image into something visually dynamic.

The process ensures no two cards are ever exactly the same, lending an essence of uniqueness and individuality to each one.

These handmade glass cards make the perfect gift for any special occasion, wether it is marking a birthday, an anniversary or simply a ‘thinking of you’ note. These are more than just cards, they’re a keepsake, a memory, a stand alone piece of art that speaks, listens and celebrates every moment with you.

About me

Hi, I’m Nikki Ryce and my creative journey lead me to start GlassRoot Studio almost 10 years ago. The techniques I use allow me to play with light, colour and texture, ultimately bringing my nature-inspired designs to life. My passion for working with glass began with stained glass, which I still love, but now includes painting and fusing too. I really enjoy teaching workshops as I’ve always believed in the inspiration that comes from shared creativity.
